Just some notes on how I got this far:

• Unlike any of the other website designs I’ve made over the years, I didn’t sketch this one out first – well, not the design you see here, at least (I’m saving the design I sketched out for the next time I have to redesign). I created this design entirely in Microsoft Publisher 2000. But before you call me insane, I used only the design here, and coded the website’s templates, etc. by hand.
• You may think the color scheme is a bit dull. I think it rather suits my personality, and those who know me personally (lucky you) would agree wholeheartedly. :^)
• Like the gradient effects? (If you haven’t noticed them yet, go look for them now. I’ll wait.) No, no JavaScript tricks, no special image formats… just a touch of proprietary CSS that will become standard whenever CSS3 comes out.
• If you’re not using a browser that actually supports web standards (as opposed to just saying it does), such as Mozilla Firefox, you’re going to be missing out on some nice features that I’ll roll out soon. You’re already missing out on a couple nice touches.
• I know, I know, the site’s not standards-compliant. I’ll get to that when I have time. It took me this long to get where I am; it’ll take me longer to weed out some of that invalid code – such as one involving a possible bug in Movable Type, the CMS that I’m (still) using to manage my blog.
• I’ve got the entries from In the Meantime ready to migrate over here. I’ll do that, again, when I can.
