A first time

| 2 Comments | No TrackBacks | Edit

This afternoon, I received my first paycheck ever – from Google of all places. It’s the first installment of their $4,500 grant for doing open-source work as part of their Summer of Code program. Speaking of which, I’m still working on that Vietnamese translation of Thunderbird, although I haven’t been committing much of my work to CVS lately. I’m apparently working on the part of the localization package that handles the spellchecker and other assorted niceties.

Which would explain my recent silence, of course.

So Minh, aside from keeping Brent Stires out of Calc AB, what are your plans for this paycheck?

Well, since this check is obviously not enough to pay off world debt and end world hunger, I think it’ll have to help pay off my tuition for the coming year. A drop in the bucket, really. :^)
