On time
So as it turned out, f2o, the greatest host I’ve ever known, has kept their word and finally opened up to new free accounts. (And trust me, I’ve known a lot of free hosts in my day.)
Very few things in life come without tradeoffs, but fortunately, f2o’s tradeoffs are quite reasonable:
- Some restrictions on your content: no ads, and don’t break the law.
- Signing up isn’t a guarantee that you’ll get an account; it just means that you’ve requested an account.
- Your URL will be a bit hard to rattle off to your friends:
username.f2o.org
. That’s your username, followed by a dot, the letterf
, the number2
, the lettero
, another dot, and finallyorg
. Sorry ’bout that.
f2o isn’t meant to disintegrate into yet another GeoCities, thank goodness. It’s intended for those who want a place to learn and test out Web development, including Web design and programming.
So basically, if you know what an if
statement is, or if you want to, you’ll’ve come to the right place. Hurry and signup; their registration periods don’t typically last that long.
