Parasitism?

| No Comments | No TrackBacks | Edit

I took the AP Biology exam today. Do you mind if I ask you a question?

Describe the symbiotic relationship that anthrax has.

A few students taking the test in the same room as me (no names) answered with something along these lines:

Anthrax has a parasitic relationship with other organisms. Not only does anthrax receive a means of reproduction and cause harm to ordinary civilians (in which there would be a mutualistic relationship); it also causes harm to the terrorists who inherently get caught by the FBI and CIA.

Wasn’t this a biology exam?

Please note that no offense was meant to be taken by victims of any terrorist attacks. I apologize if this caused any emotional distress.

This entry was released to the public no less than 48 hours after the administration of the test, in accordance with AP Exam Security. (End of test administration: approx. 2003-05-10T11:49-05:00; authored 2004-05-10T16:50:53; released 2004-05-12T17:28:57)
