Pulling our collective legs… some more?
As I reported in the first entry of In the Meantime (my temporary weblog, which is seeming less and less temporary each month…), an Irish high school–student named Adnan Osmani claims to have created a new web browser that sped up dialup browsing by a factor of four or some such.
Now, he claims that he will patent his creation, dubbed Xwebs, within seven months, and that he’s looking to sell the technology to a commercial vendor.
It’s a bit of a stretch, but this reminds me of a story on 60 Minutes last night, in which Indian employees training to become telemarketers and such were training by singing ♪Money, Money, Money!♪
At least he says that he “wasn’t really thinking about [‘commercial potential’].” That gives him just a bit of credibility in my mind…
Oh, and on top of that, he says he’s made the browser even faster, without crashing your computer.
